I'm sitting in my room, feeling disgusted by the 10 oz. Mouse show (one of the worst Adult Swim cartoons ever). I can't fall asleep :(

So I can start falling asleep - so that I will not feel bad anymore when I neglect this group and only make fun of the WoW people who want uber pallies. Really only for Enmity players...nothing of interest for anyone else.

I started thought about Enmity because my friends have so many complaints about it. It is a Warcraft III custom map. Then I decided to look at it. We are looking at a battle game that fashions itself after the RPS system as a system that creates balance by bringing equality among all heroes. The game even tells us that it is fashioned after the RPS system...how stupid could we be by not noticing that? Answer: Insanely stupid - stupid enough to be shot on sight. With how many times we've played it, at least one of us should have thrown that out during all of the complaints.

Anyway, the sniper used was a unit that was good against mages, which were exactly the people it was facing. If my unit (a heavy seige unit) was up against that sniper, it wouldn't be hard to take the sniper down. I had about 6k HP, when the average dps on the sniper was about 200/sec. Even if I couldn't kill the sniper, it would have to run away. That dps was way better than one of the mages' dps - 1200/sec (I timed how long it took him to kill me, not to mention that I checked the history of damage in the logs it made for the game). Now most people would think that that is over powered, but my character type was weak against mages. I usually didn't stand a chance if I ran into one until I was 13 levels higher and inflated my HP by an insane amount. Even then I would lose quickly to one of them unless the sniper was by my side. Again I refer to my Wordpress post about RPS system and wish that we could put this to rest. If you don't like Enmity, don't play it. If you complain about, then don't play it. You have a choice whether or not to play it.

I'm just a little confused by/tired of this because it reminds me of the World Of Warcraft people. They complain how the paladin sucks because the new patch, although it improves them greatly at end-game, still won't allow them to become invulnerable tanks, ungodly dps, and unmatchable healers at the same time. They can become nearly invulernable tanks or ungodly dps, but not both at the same time. They just complain until they get something good...then it is "fair, but awesome."

And, if this sadly comes down to what people call experience, I have made several games outside of Warcraft III. I also made some games (even one now going through b.net) for Warcraft III. I suggested something that is now in the newest patch for WoW (yes, one of the talents was a suggestion of mine - even the percentages on it was my suggestion. I love knowing a GM that has to talk to Blizzard about Paladin/Priest wants). I also helped balance one MMORPG (although it isn't as big as WoW, FFXI, or even Guild Wars). Although it isn't that much or an OMG thing, it is probably more experience than anyone that is complaining about Enmity.

I can't believe I missed The Boondocks and won't see it today. Other than that, I need to get to sleep soon. Test tomorrow. Five more days and I'm back home. Then after break, I have Winter term. All of that should hopefully refresh me for the small LAN parties and such. I really can't wait to not feel like I should play to keep people entertain and finally actually have fun playing those games. Kinda wanted to play Smash Bros or something else.

OOOooo...does anyone back home have Gamecube controllers?

Enmity? A Warcraft 3 patch? *ish confused* And yes, most people don't understand the meaning of "balance" they just want characters they like to get stronger.

Is there anything so wrong with that?

I DM in a very customized D&D game that uses many non-official classes. I tend to worry about game balance more than "Ooooo that'd be awesome if I could do this!!!" I suppose there is nothing wrong with it, as long as you don't annoy the people who are in charge of balance about it.

I've had worse. You should have been there- there is nothing funnier than the face of a person who realizes that not only are you not dead, but you feel better than ever and have a massive ********. Priceless.

I'm assuming ******** means hangover. I could be wrong, however. *throws Uber Paladins around in an attempt to escape*
